Should I study to do better on the aptitude test?

You should review the sample questions, which will be provided to you when the test is scheduled. We recommend you take our sample test here. It is suggested that you “brush up” on your Algebra and basic computation skills before taking the test, as calculators are not permitted. There is no need to memorize formulas or factual material in order to do well on the test. A good preparation tool would be the GED test preparation book which you can borrow from any public library. Applying for our apprenticeships, you are required to get a qualifying score on our aptitude test to be interviewed (unless you have documented proof of 4,000 hours of previous electrical construction experience). If you feel you may struggle on either the math or reading comprehension subjects, the Electricprep online courses may be a useful tool to help you prepare. FYI: purchasing this test prep product in no way automatically gives you advance standing or extra consideration over any other applicant. It should give you added knowledge on what the test will cover and the confidence that you are prepared when you actually take the test. GOOD LUCK!!
